REVIEW – A BEAUTIFUL FUNERAL by JAMIE McGUIRE
This book is emotionally gripping from the 1st page to the very last page.
Where to even begin with this review.
First and foremost I was completely shocked and so beyond excited and honored to have received an ARC. Beautiful Disaster was the second paperback I ever purchased after I discovered my love of reading and I have been hooked on this series ever since. When Beautiful Funeral was announced i was already on edge because the title alone made my stomach turn into knots I promised myself that I would remain calm while reading this book. I failed miserably. This is one of the hardest reviews I have ever had to write; because what words can I use to adequately describe the brilliance of this book.
Jamie McGuire has pulled out all the stops with this one and put it all out on the table. This book will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This book is so intense it will leave you with a hangover. I’m talking about a body aching, mind scrambling hangover. You will have so many oh my god, heart clenching moments and when you know #WhoIsIt, THINK AGAIN!!!
We get it all in this one. Every single perspective from the entire cast of characters that we have come to love. Every chapter of this book will have you reeling and will give you so many feels. Like a punch to the gut, you will be taken through pain, heartbreak, sadness, and almost every other emotion that you can think of.
The ending so intense your heart will crack right open. So completely beautifully written you will be a sobbing mess.
This book is definitely a top read for me. Five stars seems completely unacceptable, it deserves so so much more.
Losing has never been easy for a Maddox, but death always wins.
Eleven years to the day after eloping in Vegas with Abby, Special Agent Travis Maddox delivers his own brand of vigilante justice to mob boss Benny Carlisi. Vegas’s oldest and most violent crime family is now preparing for vengeance, and the entire Maddox family is a target.
The secret Thomas and Travis have kept for a decade will be revealed to the rest of the family, and for the first time the Maddoxes will be at odds. While none of them are strangers to loss, the family has grown, and the risk is higher than ever. With brothers against brothers and wives taking sides, each member will make a choice—let the fear tear them apart, or make them stronger.
