REVIEW – MIDNIGHT TARGET by ELLE KENNEDY
Thrilling, edgy, full of suspense !!! This book is the complete package.
From dangerous situations to tender moments it really had everything.
While I usually will read a book in a matter of hours this one took me two days to read because there was so much to this I really didn’t want to miss anything. The book is nothing short of intense with danger at every turn. This series full of mercenaries who have really become a family will burrow their way into your hearts. Every character has a part to play and every single person really stayed with me in this. Each having their own heartbreak, tragedies and pasts but they all come together because one of them is in trouble. Gripping that is one of the words I can use to describe this book. I was captivated by this story. This story was action packed but what I loved about it is that there to me was more than one story to tell. Whether it was Cate, Ash, Jim, Noelle, Sully, Liam and even the others.
Not only do we get suspense in spades with this we get not one but two romances as this book does center around Cate & Ash and Sully & Liam. Both completely different romances, one happens to be MM both with different stories but both equally endearing, heart wrenching at times and completely hot at others.
This book has so many elements to it. From Romance to Murder to Family to Danger. It really is a book to me that anyone can read. A definite five star for me. A definite recommend for someone who is looking for more.
Four years ago, Cate’s entire life changed when she discovered she was the daughter of a supersoldier. But Jim Morgan’s overprotectiveness has pushed her away. These days, she’s working as a freelance photographer and living the dangerous life Jim never wanted for her.
When Cate snaps a photo linking a corrupt South American politician with the leader of a notorious drug cartel, her mercenary father leads a team to rescue her—only to get shot and critically wounded in the process.
As Morgan’s operatives rally together on a revenge mission, they’re faced with new alliances and old heartaches. Cate is forced to work with David “Ash” Ashton, the man who broke her heart two years ago, while Liam Macgregor and Sullivan Port resurface after years apart to finally try to deal with everything they’d left unsaid.
Soon it’s all-out war between the cartel and the mercenaries—with two couples caught in the middle of the blood feud. Love and redemption are within their reach…but first they have to make it home alive.
