She’s the girl next door.

Is it possible to be madly in love with your best friend?

Love follows no rules because love is a rebel.

Her: We should talk about what’s happening…
Him: It’s about damn time.

These two thieves stole my heart a bit.

Linc and Reagan best friends and up to no good.
I laughed a lot throughout this book as these two were constantly up to no good. They were so funny and cute together.

You could feel the connection between these two and boy did they have some obstacles including themselves in the way.

What really stood out for me was how connected they really were. Always there for each other and constantly had each other’s backs.

There was a moment where I thought to myself oh fuck noooooo !!! I was about ready to have a heart attack.

This was a great ending to this series and one that I would definitely say to read if you are looking for a rom com that will give you some butterflies, a lot of laughs with a little hit of angst.

She hates him because the big oaf knocked her up with his kid.

It’s the start of everything right.

Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.

Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.

Our Review

When I saw this book it immediately appealed to me. I love the books that are set in school particularly when it involves over privileged elite, throw in someone who is not from that world and I’m sold.

Asher well he fits that bill to a tee. He’s an asshole, entitled, calculating and just cold. He has his sites set on Nora who’s mom is marry someone in the royal family.

As the story unfolds we learn why Asher is so intent on getting close to Nora. All I could think to myself is OH shit this won’t end well for either of them.

Asher is just the right amount of jerk and sweet that makes him dangerous and I loved that about him. I was secretly hoping as we see their relationship grow that he would maybe change his mind.

This is one of those books that I couldn’t read fast enough I desperately needed to see how this would play out and what would happen after the inevitable damage was done. It’s angsty, a little sweet and a lot scandalous.

The only thing preventing me from giving this a five star read is that I felt the ending was a bit rushed. Other than that it’s definitely a good read if you are looking for an angsty cruel intentions type of read.

Wrecked ~ A Review

#BookSmackedReview #MelissasReviews

Wrecked is a book about love, loss, grief, healing and a second chance at life.

Aden and Sawyer both have such heartbreak surrounding them. They meet under unusual and very sad circumstances with a twist that makes the story even more interesting.

This book has some very sweet moments but also deals with some very serious and painful subject matter.

Sawyer and Aden have the power to heal each other while at the same time have the power to almost destroy each other as there are some secrets that both of them have.

It took me a bit to get into this book if I’m being honest but as the story continued I found myself getting invested definitely wanting to see how things would turn out especially after some truths were unveiled.

There are definitely parts that will break your heart but at the end of it all we get a happy HEA that made me smile.

When you can’t trust yourself, how can you ask anyone else to?

It’s been months since Aden Colt left the Army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a boat off the California coast, he thought he’d found the perfect place to escape life.

Then Sawyer shows up, and turns his simple life upside down.

Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laidback beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can—including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk.

For Aden, the past doesn’t stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn’t care whose life it wrecks.

Bitch Slap ~ A Review

BookSmacked Review

Bitch Slap is a fun quick and super cute romance. This book starts of with a huge misunderstanding and it’s almost as if fate itself has stepped in. Talk about being at the right place at the right time.

Pierce’s instant attraction and Jez’s instant rejection instantly grabs you and you’re immediately giggling almost wanting to face palm yourself at how a first impression can go so terribly wrong. Immediately I needed to see how this would play out.

The bedroom chemistry between these two is off the charts and dayummm it made for some steamy as hell moments. These two definitely fit so well together like PB & J. Almost a whirlwind romance you could say that had me smiling and wanting these two to figure out a way.

I also loved how we shortly but briefly see a mention of Damian Stark which made me fall in love with J Kenner to begin with.

Would recommend this to someone looking for a cute, quick read chalked full of great banter and steamy moments.

The first time I met her I wanted to slap her.

The second time, I knew I had to have her.

As for the third time, a gentleman doesn’t tell.

So I guess it’s a good thing I’m no gentleman … right?

Let’s get this out of the way, right off the bat: I love women.
I love the way they look. The way they smell. The way they feel. Especially the way they feel. And I’ve pretty much made it my mission to give each and every woman who shares my bed the ride of her life.

Then I met her. Bitchy as hell and completely uninterested in me. And damned if I didn’t want her. Crave her. I told myself I only wanted to tame her. That it was all about the challenge.

I never expected to break through that ice queen exterior and find the softness underneath. Never expected how wild she’d be between the sheets or the way she’d cry my name with such sincere intensity when I totally rocked her world.

Most of all, I never expected to fall for her.

But I did.

And the question is, now that I know I want her, how the hell do I go about keeping her?

When We Fall ~ A Review

#BookSmackedReview #MelissasReviews
BookSmacked Review

When We Fall had me sucked in right from the get go. At page three I was already dying to read more.

This story is heartbreaking and will take you back to the times of being a teenager. It’s real and raw painting us a picture of what some going through high school can face. It’s not always pretty and sometimes you have to weather the storm and sometimes you break.

Erin goes through bullying in this story and my heart completely went out to her. At times I found myself so angry for her. Angry at those that were cruel. Angry at those that stood by and did nothing.

In walks Mason Knight, a true knight in shining armour. I loved him and it felt like he showed up at just the time when Erin needed him the most. What we get is a sweet friendship which turns into more. But along the way there are roadblocks from outside and within which will have you almost needing for it to go smoothly, hoping and praying that things would work out.

At one point in this story I was left reeling, completely reeling. It made me stop and think OH GAWD !!! WHY, Just WHY !!!! How this ends though is so sweet even though the heartbreak endured throughout the book will leave you speechless at times.

This book will make you pause and think, it will make you angry about things that are occurring in our real world today and hopefully it will make you want to stop and think in real life when you come across those situations yourself.

A heartbreaking yet heartwarming romance filled with the harsh realities of our world today that shows us how we can protect, support and help one another to become better.

Do you remember that moment?
That one moment.
The one when you changed.
People might say it was this or that, but deep down you know.
You know exactly what that moment was. Even if you’re not ready to admit it to yourself.
You know.
I remember mine, it didn’t just change me.
It changed everything.

Everyone thought Mason Knight was the whirlwind that swept me away. But nothing compares to those two shots. Those two shots woke me up and made me see that when we fall, sometimes we need help to get back up.

Revelry ~ A Review

This book had a bit of sweet with some angst. The two main characters trying to find themselves, feeling lost and full of self doubt mixed with grief.

I really enjoyed this book and found myself relating to both of the characters and their heartaches.
I think everyone will be able to relate in one way shape or form to what these two are going through. I love that they were able to help each other get through it and find a strong connection. It definitely made my heart feel full by the end of this book.

Wren and Anderson were exactly what each other needed. Anderson oh my heart did ache for him in so many ways. Wren I loved her, I loved that she wanted to live a life for her and not anyone else. She was energetic, strong and independent.
Sometimes all you need is to be supported, these two really show what it is like to be in a relationship like that. Such a strong story of compassion, unconditional love and support.
This is a feel good book that will break your heart a bit but mend it back together.

Wren Ballard is trying to find herself.

She never expected to be divorced at twenty-seven, but now that the court date has passed, it’s official. The paperwork is final. Her feelings on it aren’t.

Spending the summer in a small mountain town outside Seattle is exactly what she needs. The peaceful scenery is a given, the cat with the croaky meow is a surprise, but the real kicker? A broody neighbor with nice arms, a strange reputation, and absolutely no interest in her.

Anderson Black is perfectly fine being lost.

He doesn’t care about the town’s new resident — he’s too busy fighting his own demons. But when he’s brought face to face with Wren, he can see her still-fresh wounds from a mile away. What he doesn’t see coming is his need to know who put them there — or his desperation to mend them.

Sometimes getting lost is the way to find yourself. Sometimes healing only adds a new scar. And sometimes the last place you expected to be is exactly where you find home.

Murphy’s Law ~ A Review

Murphy’s Law was a really good book. The characters couldn’t be more opposite but I did love that about this book. Quinton the successful businessman has his sites set on Ashley who is far from rich and working multiple jobs to put support herself.

I love Quinton and his tenacity, he was protective and sooo sweet. He didn’t falter and as I got to know more about him the more I loved him.

Ashley oh did I love her, she had no filter, no qualms about saying what was on her mind her character was soo refreshing.

The chemistry between these two flowed off the pages. There is some crazy suspense in this book and moments that will make you take a deep breath. A really good read that I would recommend if you are looking for an opposites attract with a push/pull between two characters.

Anything That Can Go Wrong . . .

Nothing is going to go wrong. Ashley Miles has worked too hard for her independence to let some Bentley-driving hunk named Quinton Murphy interfere with her plans — or her freedom. Yes, the chemistry is phenomenal. Kind of scary, actually. But that’s it. NO emotional commitments.

. . . Will

But he’s SO wonderful — a woman could fall in lov . . . How did that happen? That wasn’t part of the plan! But can she trust him? Really trust him? The man is just so mysterious. There’s only one solution: put it all on the line and see what Quinton does when she tells him how she feels. And hope everything that can go wrong . . . won’t . . .
